Rider protection

What to wear

A helmet is essential on every line. Add more coverage as speed, jumps and technical difficulty increase.

01

Trail or open-face helmet

A correctly fitted MTB helmet is the minimum. A regular trail helmet — the light “basket” style — works for easier lines; an open-face model gives more coverage around the back and sides of the head. Fasten the chin strap on every ride.

02

Full-face helmet

Recommended for jump lines, steep descents and advanced terrain. Choose a certified MTB full-face helmet that fits securely and does not obstruct your vision or breathing.

03

Glasses or goggles

Voghjaberd has strong sun, dust and loose stones. Wear impact-resistant riding glasses or goggles to protect your eyes from glare, branches, dust and flying rocks.

04

MTB shoes

Avoid soft canvas sneakers. Flat-pedal or clipless MTB shoes with a reinforced toe box, firmer sole and grippy outsole give better protection and control on rocky ground.

05

SPF 30 or higher

Use broad-spectrum, water-resistant sunscreen on exposed skin, including your face, ears and neck. Apply it about 15 minutes before the ride and reapply every two hours or after heavy sweating.

These equipment notes are general community guidance only. Voghjaberd Trails does not sell or endorse protective equipment.

Pack list

What to bring

The terrain is exposed, rocky and loose. Reliable water sources on the trails are limited, so fill up before the ride.

01

Water & energy

Enough water for the full ride, electrolytes and a snack. Carry more in hot weather.

02

Repair kit

Spare tube or plugs, pump, tyre levers, multitool and a quick link for your chain.

03

Personal

ID, a little cash and any medication you may need.
